A Day in the Life: The Backbone of Reliable HVAC Service
Dan’s day starts early; he’s usually in the warehouse by 6 a.m., processing purchase orders, reviewing vendor invoices, checking equipment availability for upcoming installs, and coordinating deliveries. He tracks everything from start to finish, often troubleshooting along the way.
“There’s always something new, but it’s cool they trust me to take on more,” he said.
Even as his responsibilities grow, Dan doesn’t overlook the basics. He’s known for keeping the warehouse clean, clear, and code-compliant, checking fire extinguishers, keeping the aisles clear, and making sure everything is safely stored and labeled.
“It takes two hours a week, tops, but it makes a big difference,” he said. “Why not keep it organized?”
His team and HomeWorks leadership agree and often praise the condition of the warehouse. Dan, ever humble, simply shrugs it off: “It’s just the right thing to do,” he says.

Dan didn’t set out to work in HVAC. His first job in the industry was with The Portland Group in Billerica, where he picked and packed orders in a warehouse without much knowledge of the field. But he learned quickly, eventually moving up to the front counter, then into parts management, and even working in the field as a plumber.
It was during his plumbing days that an inspector encouraged him to apply to HomeWorks and offered to give him a reference. Dan took the leap and has been with our team ever since.
