Save on Energy, Support Your Community

In 2023, the Town of Athol received a Mass Save® Community Education Grant which was used to extend Mass Save program information to our multi-family residences, distribute this information at two Downtown Athol Fourth Fridays, and sponsor two workshops that included mailing to local populations. In addition, Mass Save program information was distributed to families in the Athol Royalston Regional School District and presented at a monthly North Quabbin Community Coalition public forum.

For 2024, the Town continues this positive momentum by helping all residents to make energy-efficient home upgrades. As single-family homes make up nearly two-thirds of all 5,270 housing units in Athol, we especially encourage homeowners to join in and help make our community more sustainable while enjoying the benefits of a greener home!
Increasing your home’s energy efficiency starts with assessing your current energy use. To make this easy, the Town of Athol has teamed up with HomeWorks Energy, a Mass Save partner, to offer No-Cost Home Energy Assessments that expose energy inefficiencies and highlight related upgrades and cost savings.

During your no-cost assessment, an energy specialist will evaluate your home’s energy efficiency and show you easy and affordable upgrades to start saving money and energy year-round.
