Building a stronger clean energy future starts with people.
At a recent regional clean energy and climatetech workforce summit, HomeWorks Energy was proud to be named among the recipients of the 2026 Climate-Critical Workforce Training, Equipment, and Infrastructure Grant, awarded through the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC).
This funding will support the continued growth of HomeWorks Energy’s training programs, helping to prepare the next generation of HVAC professionals with the skills they need to deliver comfort, efficiency, and safety to households across the Commonwealth.
Expanding Hands-on HVAC Training
The grant will directly support HomeWorks’ internal training initiatives, including the continued development of the HomeWorks Partner Academy.
With this funding, HomeWorks will invest in hands-on HVAC training equipment, allowing trainees to move beyond basic instruction and gain real-world experience in a controlled, supportive environment.
“We are so excited for MassCEC’s support of HomeWorks’ Partner Academy,” said Brie Minarik, Director of Training & Safety at HomeWorks Energy, who accepted the grant on HomeWorks' behalf. “This grant will allow us to purchase multiple hands-on training equipment modules for HVAC, ensuring that our upskilling program teaches beyond the foundations, giving trainees the opportunity to learn troubleshooting and real-world application in a safe space.”
This type of training is critical in today’s rapidly evolving energy landscape, where HVAC systems are becoming more advanced, more efficient, and even more central to home performance.
Learning by Doing: Building Real-World Skills
At HomeWorks, training is about building confidence through experience. That philosophy is at the core of the company’s approach to workforce development.
“People don’t get better by strictly learning on their own; they get better by doing,” said Brett Siegel, HVAC Trainer at HomeWorks Energy. “Our training allows them to make mistakes, learn from them, and build the skills they will need to provide comfort, efficiency, and safety to our community.”
By investing in practical, hands-on training, HomeWorks is helping technicians develop the skills needed to:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems
- Install and maintain high-efficiency equipment
- Deliver safer, more reliable service to homeowners
- Support Massachusetts’ transition to more energy-efficient homes
Supporting a Growing Clean Energy Workforce
As demand for energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions continues to grow across Massachusetts, so does the need for a skilled workforce to support it.
Programs like the MassCEC Workforce Development grants are designed to strengthen that pipeline, supporting organizations that are training workers for careers in climate-critical industries.
For HomeWorks Energy, this funding represents an opportunity to continue investing in both people and quality, ensuring that customers receive service from well-trained HVAC experts who understand the full picture of home performance.
A Commitment to Quality, Safety, and Growth
This investment in training aligns closely with HomeWorks Energy’s ongoing commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
By expanding access to advanced training tools and real-world learning environments, HomeWorks is supporting its internal team while contributing to a stronger, more resilient clean energy workforce across the Commonwealth.
