The HomeWorks Energy team is about halfway through our Melrose Energy Challenge. We have partnered up with the Melrose Energy Commission to meet their ambitious town goals. Among these goals, the town administration and a small army of committed volunteers are confident they can earn a $34,000 grant for a community project by completing 500 Home Energy Assessments by the end of November. In the end, the MEC are striving to increase residential energy conservation for the Melrose residents.

Participants who complete their no-cost assessment will be helping to meet our 500 assessment goal. These assessments will help the residents to understand their home’s energy use. The completion of assessments will result in saving roughly 32, 552 tons of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere! This is equivalent to the following:

  • Taking 6,865 cars off the road for one year.
  • 430 tanker trucks worth of gasoline.
  • Installing 8.2 Wind Turbines.

HomeWorks Energy takes pride in partnering up with the Melrose Energy Commission to help reach their town goals. We encourage and invite every resident to join us in making Melrose homes more energy efficient.
