The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program works in association with NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) to provide New York State homeowners with information, rebates, low-interest loans, and incentives to improve home energy efficiency that reduce energy consumption and utility costs. The program offers solutions to many common problems homeowners face such as drafts, ice dams, hot/cold spots, moisture on windows, mold, excessive dust, and of course, high utility bills. Through recommended home energy improvements, the program allows for homeowners to save money, save energy, and save the environment!
As a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Contractor, HomeWorks Energy conducts No-Cost Home Energy Assessments, installs Programmable Thermostats, energy-efficient heating, cooling and water heating systems as well as home insulation. We proudly serve Westchester, Putnam, and Rockland Counties where we have been able to help homeowners reduce utility costs by up to 20% through recommended efficiency improvements.
What happens during a No-Cost Home Energy Assessment?
For an assessment, one of our highly-trained energy specialists will come to your home and determine how well your home’s energy is utilized. They will spend approximately two to four hours at your home to find out how much energy is wasted and identify areas of potential energy loss, such as inadequate insulation and outdated heating and cooling systems. The specialist will also check for safety risks like high CO levels, gas leaks, mold and flammability dangers as part of every assessment. Once the assessment is completed, the specialist will provide you a full report detailing any energy efficiency recommendations we find. This way you can be informed on the status of your home and allows you to pick and choose which energy efficiency upgrades that make the most sense for you.
What Are The Benefits?
Through the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program, HomeWorks Energy can provide numerous benefits to New York State homeowners simply through a home energy assessment. Check them out!
Comprehensive Home Energy Analysis. HomeWork’s Home Energy Specialists are specially trained and experienced in the use of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to provide you with an unparalleled, comprehensive analysis of your home’s energy efficiency. Our Specialists take a whole-house approach to energy efficiency to identify where the biggest energy efficiency gains can be made. The assessment analyzes how all the elements of your home work together to affect the amount of electricity and fuel you use. The result is a top-to-bottom look at where your home is wasting energy and a report detailing the recommended home energy improvements you should make.
ENERGY STAR® LED light bulbs. During every assessment, we offer to replace old incandescent bulbs with new ENERGY STAR® LED bulbs – at 10% off! LED bulbs use significantly less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs (up to 80% less) and last 10 times longer. LED bulbs also produce notably less heat than traditional bulbs which makes them a great choice for applications such as task lighting and illumination of heat sensitive objects such as artwork or objects that can be damaged by heat.
Energy efficiency, simplified. In addition to the money and energy you will save, a no-cost home energy assessment will help save the environment by reducing your homes carbon footprint. So far this year, HomeWorks Energy has helped homeowners cut over 100,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions and CO2 through assessments! Take the first step towards a greener, energy-efficient home today.
