Since we launched in 2008, a lot has changed. But one thing hasn’t: our goal to help homeowners save on utility costs, live comfortably, and better the environment.
This quarterly report is an update on how we are working together with homeowners to save in three big areas: money, energy, and the planet. Through our partnerships with state-utility sponsored programs like Mass Save® and NYSERDA’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®, we are happy to help Massachusetts and New York residents and their communities become more energy efficient and offset carbon emissions!
In the first three months of 2018, we have helped homeowners through no-cost home energy assessments, heating & cooling solutions, as well as insulation improvements. Let’s look at the results of the work we do for our customers.
What does it cost for you to heat and cool your home for a full year? We offer energy efficient solutions that allow us to maximize savings and benefits for our customers. By investing in recommended projects such as insulation or upgrades like a new water heater, homeowners can cut utility costs by as much as 20%. Through energy efficiency improvements made during the first quarter of this year, our customers will generate a combined lifetime savings of $44 Million!
Did you know Massachusetts is #1 in energy efficiency for the last seven years? This is made possible through programs like Mass Save that allow us to offer amazing energy saving benefits to you and your home! By providing solutions like replacing conventional light bulbs with energy-efficient ENERGY STAR® LED’s and upgrading to programmable thermostats that allow you to set your homes heating-cooling system to run along with your schedule, homeowners are able to conserve energy while still living comfortably.
From January to the end of March, our work allowed our customers to conserve over 147,000,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity. The energy that our customers are able to save is enough to power 16,400 homes for an entire year!
Save The Planet.
A big part of HomeWorks Energy’s mission is to help homeowners understand their homes energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions through education and efficiency improvements. Through community partnerships and initiatives, we assist local organizations and towns help homeowners do their part today to help the world of tomorrow. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions, we help homeowners conserve water as well by replacing showerheads and aerators with low-flow options.
In the first quarter, HomeWorks Energy has helped homeowners save over 10,800 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. That’s the equivalent of taking 2,300 passenger cars off the road for a whole year!
